Alaska Wild Adventures

From Icy Bay to Kodiak

After spending six years in Icy Bay learning and discovering the area we got an offer to go to the Emerald Isle of Kodiak on an exciting NEW adventure!

We have friends in Kodiak that are building cabins on their land, and want to develop nature viewing and eco-tourism, which is something we really enjoy. So, we jumped on the opportunity and packed up and headed to Kodiak. It is so exciting to get to explore a new vast area. There are so many new and untouched areas where the fishing and bird watching is limitless, and pristine.

The first thing we do when we get to Kodiak is have to move an 80X80 dock in to a lagoon we call Crazy White Man Lagoon. This is going to be the base of operations. To accomplish this we use a 36ft landing craft and a 16ft Boston Whaler. It was a tricky maneuver, but we pulled it off. We got the dock moored in the lagoon and then started right away on building a bridge to the property from the dock. You will see in Episode 3. This is the location where we start building a 16X32 cabin for our base of operations.

Now we are going to go to town in the landing craft and start hauling lumber to the dock to start building our cabin!
